I Like a folding one with plenty of mixing space, and a gasket to help seal

SKETCHING SUPPLIES:

Sketchbook, 9 by 12 or smaller

Pencils, HB and 4B (I prefer woodless)

Kneadable eraser

Sandpaper to sharpen and shape pencils, about 220 grit

PAINTBRUSHES:

Sable or synthetic watercolor brushes

at least 2 or 3 sizes of Round brushes with a point,

and

3 sizes of Flat brushes: 1", 1/2", and 1/4" are good

A stiff bristle brush, for softening and scrubbing

WATERCOLOR PAPER

Professional Artist quality Arches 140 lb, cold pressed,

three to five 22 by 30" sheets,

broken down into smaller sheets,

(half, quarter and eighth sheets are nice to have)

Arches watercolor block, 12" by 16" or smaller, is of equal quality but is not as versatile.
