In response to COVID-19 and the unprecedented challenges it has brought to our youth, the Vita Art Center is organizing a community youth art project and exhibit that helps to heal thru art. The project entitled “Through Our Eyes” will start with free art workshops for youth between the ages of 6-18 years. The art workshops will be lead by professional artists who will guide the participants thru the creation of self-portraits, each wearing a face mask. The students will be encouraged to create a face mask as a form of self-expression that communicates the unique feeling they’ve experienced during the pandemic.

The series of 100 portraits of youth will be exhibited both online and onsite for the community to view. To document the important and historic perspective of our youth thru COVID19 we will create a printed catalog of the portraits. Exhibit dates to be announced.
