PHILIP ARGENT BIO

Philip Argent was born in Southend–on–Sea, Essex, England. He received an M.F.A. from UNLV, Nevada and a B.A. honors from Cheltenham School of Art, England. The artist currently lives and works in Goleta, CA and teaches in the Department of Art at UC Santa Barbara. His work has been shown in solo shows in Los Angeles, NY and Berlin, and has been included in numerous national and international exhibitions in galleries and institutions such as MOCA, Cleveland and the Cranbrook Art Museum MI. In Spring 2016, 12 of Argent’s paintings were featured in DATAStream at the Center for the Arts at Virginia Tech. Argent’s paintings can be found in the permanent collections of MoMA, NY; Albright-Knox, NY and the Santa Barbara Museum of Art amongst others. He is represented by Shoshana Wayne Gallery in Los Angeles, CA.
