The mission of Vita Art Center's Teen Art Program is to connect teenagers to contemporary visual art and artists in Ventura. Our Teen Art Program presents opportunities for young people to meaningfully interact with outstanding local artists from a variety of disciplines. Teen Art

This is a course based on the teaching method developed by Dr. Betty Edwards and made popular by her book “Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain.” This course is for middle school to high school students and is designed specifically for students at a beginner level.. During this course, students develop the perceptual skills necessary for realistic drawing: contour line, positive/negative space, perspective and proportion, light and shadow, and seeing and drawing the whole. This course combines lectures and studio exercises in a supportive environment. It is an eight-week course in which students move from drawing symbolically to drawing what they see.

Fees: $130., 8 weeks
