Explore mindfulness and creativity during a stress free evening. Starting with guided meditation get in touch with your creativity and make a personal Mandala. Drawing Mandalas can increase focus and creativity, provide artistic satisfaction along with an increased sense of personal well being.

Yoga is a great way to ease the body and quiet the mind, it’s also a great tool to help us tap into our creative selves. Each class will include time for yoga where we will play with poses, learn breathing exercises, and new ways to relax. After yoga the rest of the day will be spent creating art. Painting, drawing and sculpting will be explored throughout the week. Kids will need to bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes they can move in.

Megan Bisbee, BFA, CTY 200-hr, MFTt has been teaching art, yoga and mindfulness meditation for over ten years. She is also currently a practicing psychotherapist specializing in depth work. Her teaching is based on her own work around the power of self-knowing to ease stress, find self-acceptance, embrace joy, and live deeply.

Art Explorers will spend the week exploring some of Ventura’s best art and nature spots. We will find inspiration to create our own art. The museum, local galleries, artist studios, the beach and botanic gardens are all on the list. We will all meet at Vita Art Center before taking off for our days adventure the second half of each class will be spent making and learning techniques in painting, drawing, sculpting, and more.

Looking at the many sources of inspiration that exists in nature we will create a variety of creative projects. In the process we will develop art techniques, skills and natural science awareness. Young artists explore their imagination and creativity while learning to enhance their art skills. Projects include creating imaginary creatures, drawing from mythology, and fantasy literature,. A variety of techniques and materials will be used throughout the week including painting, drawing and mixed media. The class is structured to encourage creative expression, concept development, and advancement of skills.

Using textiles and mixed media techniques such as painting, drawing, stenciling, and other surface design methods with traditional and unique materials including plastic bags, photographs, and cardboard. We will learn sewing and mixed media techniques to make beautiful one of a kind pillows, artwork, and wearable art.

This is the week to build your dream home, tree house, fairy house, castle or whatever tickles your fancy, all in miniature. We will spend the week building our houses and everything to go inside it. Furniture, Wallpaper, flooring and more.

Create a portrait of your favorite animal or pet in this mixed media painting and drawing class. Working with acrylic paint you will explore many techniques for creating texture and composition with paint, collage, stencils and printmaking. Painting experience is not essential. Combining journaling and art, this class offers participants a unique opportunity to explore a variety of techniques in journal making, drawing, painting, collage, and more. Visual journaling is about connecting with your inner self and expressing yourself freely. This class will look at the intersections between imagination and making, sharpen observational skills, and a kick-start a practice of journaling. *Drop off and pick up at the WAV Gallery, 175 S. Ventura Avenue, Ventura, CA 93001. The WAV - Working Artists Ventura - is a state-of-the-art community, designed for artists and creative businesses, and is located in the Downtown Cultural District of Ventura, California.
