Check out Wendy Osher’s embroideries of adolescent boys’ power figures and stitch your own doodles or thoughts in needle and thread with the artist’s guidance. Yoga is a great way to ease the body and quiet the mind, it’s also a great tool to help us tap into our creative selves. Each class will include time for yoga where we will play with poses, learn breathing exercises, and new ways to relax. After yoga the rest of the day will be spent creating art. Painting, drawing and sculpting will be explored throughout the week. Kids will need to bring a yoga mat and wear comfortable clothes they can move in.

Megan Bisbee, BFA, CTY 200-hr, MFTt has been teaching art, yoga and mindfulness meditation for over ten years. She is also currently a practicing psychotherapist specializing in depth work. Her teaching is based on her own work around the power of self-knowing to ease stress, find self-acceptance, embrace joy, and live deeply.

The museum, local galleries, artist studios, the beach and botanic gardens are all on the list. We will all meet at Vita Art Center before taking off for our days adventure the second half of each class will be spent making and learning techniques in painting, drawing, sculpting, and more.

For this class we will step out of the studio and connect with our surroundings for inspiration. Students will be encouraged to paint what they see around them. The aim of these classes is to tap in to your child's creativity, develop their sense of observation and allow them to experience the joy of plein air painting in a fun and supportive environment. Painting experience is not essential. Projects will encourage creative expression, concept development, and advancement of painting skills. Drawing outside is known as "Plein Air" drawing. Literally translated, this French term means "in the open air".

Participants should dress in clothes they don't mind getting messy in. Please bring a snack, plenty of water. Sunblock and a hat will be needed as we will be working outdoors.
